EVALUATION OF MY DESIGNS

DESIGN 1

Explanation: 

This was my first design, in my plan, this poster background was light green because I think that it it a quite eye-catching color. The title is in a big font and in yellow, which is a color in contrast with green. I drew a spotlight because I think that it can help you to understand what is the event about and try to imagine you on stage. I wrote a sentence "this time not just singing, if you are good at acting, dancing, etc, then it is your opportunity". I think that this sentence is great because it explains you that this event is not as the TV program where you just sing, but in the school event you can also dance, act, or do whatever you think can be a great performance. About the information of date and time, I preferred to write a sentence instead of "13th November, 7.30, school theatre" because I think that it is more clear. I put my name on the low right corner so that it is not too evident and I also put the ISM logo at the end of the page. I just noticed that I forgot to write that there are APERITIVI SERVED.

Evaluation:

This wasn't my final poster due to the fact that, comparing this poster to the others, I noticed that it was a bit poor of images and it wasn't really eye-catching.

Using my design specification table, I also noticed that there was too much text and too much information could confuse the audience. I thought that this poster was really simple and "sad" so I decided to move my choice on another one.

DESIGN 2

Explanation:

This was my second design. I think that it is eye-catching and that it respect almost all my limits, design and wishes. The background is fire color from the left to the right, while the title is fire color but from the right to the left so that it creates a sort of contrast. I think that it is a good idea to integrate the x-factor logo in the title because it helps me to show what is the poster and event about. I wrote synthetically the information about date and time and I wrote in a quite big font that there are APERITIVI SERVED. On the top of the writings "first,second,third judge", there should be the three photographs of the three judges. I wrote a sentence at the end of the page "come to sing with us and join in the x-factor school event" because  I think that it motivates people to join in this event. I'll put the ISM logo in the low right corner and my name in the low left corner so that they're not to evident.

Evaluation:

This poster was my favorite one because I think that it is the most complete and eye-catching. It includes all information needed but without confusing or boring the spectator. It respects almost all the things that I included in my design specification. The colors are great and the images appropriate. It is clear, it doesn't contain dark colors, it has the right size, the terminology is simple and the title and writings are colorful and not too big or too small.

DESIGN 3

Explanation:

For now, this is my favorite poster because I think that it respects every single demand, limit or wish that I wrote in my design specification. It has great colors (blue for the background, pink for the writings). In the centre there is written "XFACTOR in ISM" and this sentence indicates our aim (publicize the x-factor event). Just under the title there are all the information you need about the event. My name and the ISM logo are, as always, at the end of the poster so that they're not too striking. To improve and decorate my poster I added a microphone in the direction of the title and I wrote some words, such as "ACT, DANCE, SING" that help the audience to understand what is this event about. 

Evaluation:

I was really uncertain about my decision on the final poster because in my opinion, this design and the second one were really good. I chose the other one because I thought that the information wasn't really clear because they were in a sentence and I thought that more synthetic is the information, more clear it is. In my plan all the writings were pink because it is a color that is in contrast with the blue background, but I also thought that all pink is a bit monotonous and it can bore the audience.

DESIGN 4

Explanation:

What I mostly like about this poster is the title. I think that it is a really creative idea to use two microphones to do the "X" of x-factor. I think that in this poster I mentioned an important information: " ask Miss. Daykin for more information". Personally, I think that this is a quite important information because it tells you where to find help. The information are synthetic and clear. In the centre there are the photos of the three judges because they cover an important role in this event. As always, I designed the ISM logo in a low corner and, differently from other posters, I wrote my name on the high right corner.

Evaluation:

I didn't choose this poster because there were missing information about the place and I couldn't design the "microphone X" as I wanted. I think that the structure of this poster was pretty clear but, because of this aesthetically issue, I couldn't apply my plan to the electronic poster.
